Photographing birds is something I enjoy tremendously.
It’s a form of meditation for me.
I get to relax, sit back, and take in the scenery.
That’s the fun part, but sometimes a scene needs to be prepped.
For example, this Blue Jay is stealing a cashew from a branch I tied to a metal Shepard’s Crook plant hanger.
I wanted to present a more natural-looking scene.
I will often times take old broken branches and use them as feeding stations to get images that have a natural appearance, as opposed to photographing birds at a plastic or store-bought feeder.
At some point, I’ll make a video showing how I set up shots using elements found in nature. Stay tuned.
