It’s been a little while since I’ve started hollowing out pumpkins and using them as bird feeders.
To get the birds comfortable with the idea, I left the old feeder out for a few weeks. The birds would go from the old feeder to the pumpkins.
Once I felt they were used to feeding from the pumpkins, I removed the store-bought feeder and just left pumpkins out.
I gutted the pumpkins right in the feeding area, hoping attract a variety of birds and squirrels.
I’d say the whole concept and implementation has been a success.
